by Bobbie The trip was SOOOO fantastic! Seeing the Cyberpals who could make it was wonderful! Our "suite" at the Holiday Inn was just toooo fantastic, although we will be paying for it for a lonnnnnnnng time. :) We had a full kitchen....dish washer...garbage disposal...the works. When they say 'suites' they mean it! Our room was a wonderful gathering place for our 'ice cream socials'!!!!! :-) Ohhhhhh what good ice cream, and what good company! The kids loved the pool...... I only made it into it twice, but both times were great! "Culver" fast food restaurant, right in front of the Holiday Inn was a new experience that we kept repeating! Kinda a 'upscale' Dairy Queen..with great 'hard serve' ice cream, as well as great 'made just for you' hamburgers....chicken....cod fish.... really nice... and close! :) Yesterday evening was a bit tramatic, though! We were just getting ready to leave for the show....Linda had let us know they were leaving early because of an inpending storm... it was getting 'dark'...and Jamie said "What's that noise??" We opened the window to listen and there the storm sirens going off! Jamie panics with approaching storms..and I must admit I don't delight in 'sirens'....so we all grabbed our show stuff and headed for a lower level. (we were on the second floor) I went to the desk, and asked the gal there if they had a storm shelter area....but she really didn't have a clue as to what to do. I just followed others...and about all of us Cyberpals ended up in one area of the hall that looked pretty solid...and we just 'waited'.......and waited... while the sirens wailed. NOT the way we had planned on starting the evening! It was perhaps 20 minutes to 1/2 hour before things cleared enough for us to actually head out to the show....but they DID clear up nicely!!! AND we were even treated with a rainbow on the way to the theater!!!!! Jamie said he saw on the news that there 'was' damage in Milwaukee...but I never got to the tv to see what had actually happened, or how close were were to any real danger....but it was close enough for me, no matter what! We got to the theater just in time to get seated for our final show! and the BEST show, of course, because were were right up front! We didn't email after the show last night, because the phones were out!.... but we all went back to our room again, for the end of the ice cream, relaxing.....and then final good byes for some. :( Linda, Nancy and Danny are on their way home now.... arriving this even. Lisa and Darrell headed up further north...continuing their vacation. Jackie and her kids and Marty .. Jill and Donna N. ...and ourselves all left this morning. There is just no adequate way to discribe a symphony show! And this series was one of the best! The orchestra was wonderfully tuned into our guys....and the background music to all our old familiar songs was just outstanding! And getting to experience it 3 times was just toooooo neat!!!! The first two night, in the balcony, the sound system had to carry the orchestra up to us...but the last night, we could hear the music coming from the stage itself, and it was well worth the price of the seats. The kids loved both vantage points, and so did I. Two totally different experiences...... with the last.... and farewell show, of course being the best! The luncheon went extremely well! The Wyndham Hotel Restaurant had a table for 20 all ready and waiting for us, and an end seat was occupied when we all arrived. Ranger Doug was already there and waiting. :) Slim and Joey soon joined us, and we all partook of a wonderful breakfast buffet, with omlete made to order while we watched and waited. :) Our presentation of the branding iron, and Keenan's mom's letter, was a bit emotional. I tried to tell the guys that all of us have our our indiviual battles... illnesses... need for 'support'...and that they are doing 'good stuff' out on the trail spreading love and happiness to folks who need it. And also that since they are there for us, we want to be there for them too! Donna N. read the letter to the guys. I knew I wouldn't be able to! I hardly made it through my part. ..... I don't think there was a 'dry eye in the house' as they say. It all fell together just TOOOOOOO well. Gary's branding iron was just such a wonderful idea!!!!! And it WAS in the campfire for the show that evening!!!!! The play list for the shows was the same each night, except for the 'comedy number'. One was Palindrome....another was Reincarnation... I can't remember the one they did the first night. Songs in caps were with the Orchestra
