Tweetsie Shows in Boone, N.C.

August 5 - 6, 2000

Just though I'd give ya a bit on the Tweetsie Shows in Boone, N.C. this weekend. The Riders were in great shape this weekend...refreshed and rowdy! They really didn't do a 'normal' set at all during the whole weekend. Heard a lot of new stuff that I hadn't heard the boys play before...even Woody's son Jacob came on stage and picked out a couple of tunes on the Mandolin with the boys. Was really great to see the guys cuttin' up as good as ever! Highlights were 'Cowboy Camp Meetin' being sung acapella, Jacob on the Mandolin (and runnin' the Merc), Alice dancing to 'Arms of my Love' and of course the whistle coming from the Train Engine triggering 'Orange Blossom Special'!

A young girl, Deborah, from Bostic N.C., did a great painting of the guys and presented it to them. Slim stopped during the show and pointed her out and the whole band thanked her during the last set on Saturday...was a really neat painting of the guys and was quite large...2 feet by 4 feet maybe. She took the painting from the Cyberpal Mouse Pad photo.

I'm not real good at reviews but here's the whole Saturday Songlist...(I didn't put in Sunday's because it would just be Too Long!)
