TIDBITS by Bobbie

The neat thing about an event like this is that each individual has a totally unique experience...and each of us can give a different slant on what happened! :D

Mine comes from a "Gramma" slant, as taking care of the kids had to be number one on my list. I would like to have experienced it more as a Cyberpal, too...but as split as my personality is, I haven't yet found a way to divide up the 'ole bod! There will be many shows in the future that I can do on my own... and kids grow up soooooo quickly, and are usually interested in "The Cowboy Way" for only a short period, so I have to take advantage of every chance that comes along to share it with them. Hopefully, after they go through their 'teenage rebellious years" (dread dread), they will have the Cowboy Way to fall back on later in life... And for now, Riders are such a wonderful bond between us.

Anywho...on to what I started out to write.... :0)

While Bearcreek was very quiet as to "how" our luncheon was going to happen, I relied on their word that is 'was' planned...and all went well. We 'did' have to experience the same buffet menu for the luncheon and dinner, but were warned in advance to make different selections to fool ourselves into thinking it was two different meals... :) The Riders were pleasantly surprised when we picked up the tab for their meal... it's not "The Cowboy Way" to ask a feller out to lunch..and then make him pay!

Towards the end of the luncheon I passed out a few "Cyberpal TOP DOGIE" awards to Cyberpals who have done much for us during the year. There was one for Tiff for doing the newsletter, Linda for getting our wonderful shirts, maintaining the egroups calendar, and pitching in whenever she sees a chance to help out...I'll be mailing one to Mooey...for her wonderful Show Signs..and one to Gary for all the great Cowboy Poetry he writes. (Sorry Gary... I didn't ask about your poem, and I do apologize!! -- I was too wrapped up with the kids to remember much of anything) dj recieved one for having our "RRTs attended" record.. .and I gave Donna from Canada, who is our "Honorary Cyberpal" with no computer", one for being RITS "Fan Extraordinare". She has been following the Riders all over the country for over 20 years, and has traveled as far as Elko to see them..and estimates that she must have gone over the 200 shows mark. WOW!!!! ....................................And of course one to Darrell and Lisa for the ICE CREAM which was a hit both at the luncheon...the dinner.... AND in the Southwind! :D (James' favorite was the 'Crazy Charlie')........ Jackie received one, for being our "Newest "Fan"atic"... Her ABC song was soooooo perfect for the luncheon and in the space of two weeks she will be attending her THIRD concert this weekend!!!!!

These awards were a last minute thought on my part... and right off I'd like to say that EVERY cyberpal deserves one for their dedication to out guys!!!! This is the greatest group of folks around!!!!!

Also, At the very end of the concert autograph signing session, Lisa presented the Riders with the devotional books, accompanying them with a explanation of Fidlinkate's wonderful idea for a pray chain for the guys...and our "keeping the highways lined with angels". (And after hearing some stories about Woody's driving... maybe we better put them really close together, and set one on Woody's shoulder, too!). It was a very warm..'close' moment...and you could 'feel' the connection we have with the guys!!!!!! And as all of us lingered, they guys walked out...down a hall... waving back to us. It was a extrodinary moment!!!! THANKS Lisa and Darrell!!!! (and they could use some help in covering the cost of the books ... They had already brought the wonderful ice cream!!! What Cyberpals! )

WOW!!! Tidbits! THIS LONG to add a couple TIDBITS?? Maybe I'd better not try a full review! It would be a novel! I'll just add in items as they come to mind.... and I think they will be coming to mind for a long time!!!!

BCF was everything we expected.... and more!!!!

Bobbie
