Riders in the Sky
in Minneapolis, MN

October 30, 1998

They were wonderful, of course, and in their usual fine form. The venue was Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis and the place looked packed and I heard Doug say there were about 1800. I don't have a list of songs, but there were several off the new album: Wahoo, Cowboy Camp Meeting, others were: Riding on the Rio, Sioux City Sioux (for Gene), Always Drink Upstream. They did a few Irish/Celtic cowboy numbers (new to me) and very nice..especially favorable to my husband Tom. A big hit were the rope tricks by Woody and the 8 track winner was a little boy who asked Slim how he went to the bathroom with chaps on? It got a lot of laughs, RD busted up and the young man came forward. The crowd gave a standing 0 and so the encore was the looney tunes instrumental followed by an acapella 'He walks with the Wild and the Lonely. As always, we enjoyed the visiting afterward and seeing some other fans who have become friends and acquaintances. I'm happy to say that today I got tickets for the Fergus Falls show in a month and so I'll look forward to another concert soon. Take care everyone, Jill
