Attended by Nancy and Jeff

Ottawa Kansas Show # 3894

We left home at 4:30 p.m. and arrived at 5:15. The JC's were sponsoring a Chuckwagon supper - BBQ beef, bakes beans, potato salad, and pie so we ate, then went upstairs to pick up our tickets. The show was a total SELL OUT!!!

The show started at 7:30 with no opening act, just RITS. The songs were the same as Wichita show up through Arm of My Love by Woody. They finished the first half with One More Ride. Intermission, 15 minutes.

They started second half of show with songs:

Back in the Saddle
160 Acres
Cherokee (when Slim did his bass solo, Woody said Too Slim handles that thing like a monkey handles a peanut!)
Texas Sand
Celtic songs (I particularly like Annie Laurie)

Questions
1. When you hit show 4000, what will be your special anniversary song? When Pay Day Rolls Around OR Too Old to Cut the Mustard.

2. Who made Woody's pants? Walmart. Slim says they're in Woody's department between tires and lingerie.

3. Are you real cowboys? RD says I'm a fireman, Woody says I'm a lawyer, and Slim says, yes we're real cowboys, are you a real kid and gave the 8 track to him. (He looked like he was about 4 or 5 and briskly walked up, took the tape, and left Slim shaking hands with nobody!

Then came requests ending with Surfin" USA.

Other songs:
Ghost Riders in the Sky
Cool Water
Fastest accordion in the West - same as Wichita
Rope tricks with 2 Jaws (same as Wichiats, but they also do Dry Bones with I Fall to Pieces)
Home on the Range
Varmint Dance
Happy Trails
Encore: Looney Tunes, You are My Sunshine, and Walk with the Wild and Lonely (unplugged)

We talked with the guys and I gave them your messages and had them autograph the Christmas CD that I won. Slim asked what time we got home from Wichita and Doug and Woody asked how I was feeling. I told them I would see them in Des Moines on Feb 7. RD says that will be show # 3900. We left for home at 10:45 and arrived at midnight.
